Richard Nicoll SS13

Richard Nicolls' SS13 presentation showcased great craftsmanship, practicality within garments and a real athletic, urban theme for SS13.

Nicoll presented no nonsense pieces, with sports referencing coming through in his use of functional fabrics of cotton mesh, soft jerseys and anorak taffeta (seen on the short fitted dresses with billowing lengths). Nicoll enlarged the mesh fabrics to aid his design within his garments, you can realise the amount of pattern cutting his team would have done to get these garments perfect and gorgeous. The colours from this show ranged from deep aubergine, to relaxed grey marl to "Nicolls Blues" a staple of his sydney background. Although the garments are quite relaxed and casual, seen in some of the dropped shouldered t-shirts, in some of the pieces you can see real structure within the garment- the structured jackets with there boxy shoulders being a garment that really highlights this.

Such a great collection.
