The Australian brand, Sass & Bide had such a fresh, gleaming feel to their SS13 collection show today. I felt, looking at the garments and the styling, that the collection could have been taken immediately off a resort show- what with the beautifully stripped back garments, the stunning tuxedo jackets and those gorgeous sheer dresses, with minimal but maximal in style, accessories.
The colours mainly black and white with a shot of fluoro orange really excelled the very modernist pieces. I love that the designers, Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, added to this very feminine collection the tuxedo jacket: playing with gender for SS13, a trend I have always loved, and a trend that never goes away. Although most of the garments were clear cut and sharp in shape, the clever use of embellishment, although slight and beautiful seemed to be used as a function of helping to show the structure of the garments- these subtleties all showed for a great selection of garments.
